Careers
We recognise that it is essential to learn about career pathways and the world of work as well as to develop employability skills alongside the academic curriculum. Our CEIAG programme provides students with information, advice and guidance throughout their time with us at KHSS to ensure they are equipped to make appropriate decisions about their career pathway. Every student has a one-to-one meeting with a suitably qualified careers advisor during their time with us to help them make the best choices for them.
At KHSS we are committed to continually developing our CEIAG programme to ensure we provide the best opportunities for our students. We welcome contact from employers, further and higher education institutions to work with us to build on the range of opportunities we can provide for our students to engage in the world of work.
Our activities are linked to the 8 essential employability skills, 6 CDI Learning areas and the 8 Gatsby Benchmarks of quality careers guidance.

During these sessions, at a minimum, providers are given enough time to:
- Share information about their organisation and the approved technical qualifications and apprenticeships they offer.
- Explain what career routes these qualifications and apprenticeships could lead to.
- Provide insights into what it might be like to learn or train with that provider.
- Answer pupils’ questions.
Spotlight Careers Talks

Talking Futures
If you want help getting a conversation started – whether your child knows what they want to do or not – we’ve created Conversation Cards to help you. Just choose the deck that’s right for your child and work through the cards together. You don’t need to complete them all in one go, or come to a full decision by the end as they may throw up some questions that take time to explore, but they will help you reach some decisions together.
