Hot weather arrangements for week commencing 22nd June
With the hot weather continuing, we are making some temporary changes to help everyone stay safe and comfortable.
Stay Hydrated
-
Students should bring a water bottle to school and keep it with them in lessons.
-
Students should drink water regularly throughout the day — don't wait until you feel thirsty.
-
Free drinking water is available from water fountains and additional water stations around the school.
Uniform
-
Students may wear PE shorts with their PE top or school white polo shirt as part of a relaxed uniform arrangement during the hot weather. (please do not wear other types of shorts, hot pants etc.)
In Lessons
-
Classrooms will be kept as cool as possible by opening windows, closing blinds, and reducing unnecessary electrical equipment.
-
Some lessons may be moved to cooler areas of the school.
PE and Outdoor Activities
-
Outdoor PE will not take place after break time.
-
PE lessons will be adapted to reduce strenuous activity.
-
We may postpone some outdoor events or trips if temperatures become too high.
Break, Lunchtime & Clubs
-
Students should use shaded areas whenever possible.
-
The main hall will be open at lunchtime as a cool space away from the sun.
-
Football, basketball, and cricket will not take place at lunchtime during the hot weather period.
-
Outdoor enrichment activities are cancelled for this week.
Thank you for working with us to keep everyone safe.
