Student Celebrated for Outstanding Bravery
KHSS is incredibly proud to celebrate George Bartlett, who has been awarded the FastAid Young Hero Award in recognition of his bravery, quick thinking and decisive actions during a life-threatening emergency.
George acted very fast one evening in July when a friend's dad was suffering a cardiac arrest. George not only rang emergency services, but he also got a defibrillator and kept his friend's dad alive until the emergency services arrived.
George acted fast without hesitation, and as a result of this the man is now at home fit and well. Without such quick thinking, it could of been a very different ending. His response demonstrates that courage is not simply about being fearless; it is about taking action when it matters most.
We hope his story inspires others to recognise the importance of staying calm in an emergency, seeking help and knowing how to access lifesaving equipment.
