#ThisGirlCan - Inspiring Young Women Through Enterprise
This Girl Can is an exciting eight-week programme designed to inspire and empower girls to dive in to enterprise. Jointly led by Ms Parmar (Behaviour Mentor) and Ms Homer (Careers Lead), the project gives students the opportunity to develop their entrepreneurial skills while building confidence in their own abilities.
During weekly one-hour sessions, the girls will work in two teams to research, design, create, package and promote their own products. Their hard work will culminate in a sales event at the Birmingham Hospice Shop 4-6 Mell Square, Solihull, on Thursday 26 November, from 10am to 12.30pm.
All money raised will be donated to support the shop and Birmingham Hospice, giving the students the opportunity to make a positive difference to their local community.
At the heart of This Girl Can is the belief that every young woman should feel empowered to pursue her ambitions and recognise that there is no glass ceiling limiting what she can achieve. Alongside gaining hands-on enterprise experience, the girls will develop valuable transferable skills, including teamwork, leadership, communication and problem-solving.
